Create a plugin
What you're doing
Making a new plugin with the Create Plugin wizard, then adding parts from the Explorer. You need no file knowledge.
Steps
- Create new, Plugin (or Plugin Studio, Guided setup, or File, New plugin).
- Name: "Equipment Loans". The id
equipment-loansfills in itself (lowercase letters, digits, dashes; it cannot change later). - Type: full application, UI plugin, backend plugin, extension or integration. This decides the steps that follow.
- Data: Add data, call it
loan, add a fielditem. Data names aresnake_case. - Roles: Add suggested roles creates an admin and a viewer role with create/read/update/delete permissions.
- Screens: a list screen and a menu entry for your first data.
- Review: lists every step. Create plugin runs them and shows each result.
Prefer words? On step 1 type a sentence in Describe your plugin and choose Draft with AI; nothing is created until you send it.
Add more from the Explorer
Every group has a +:
| Add | You fill in | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Form | title, fields | a form opened in the form designer |
| Mobile navigation | title, layout, links | bottom-tab or drawer definition |
| Report / Print template | title, data, columns | bands with header and a row per record |
| Business rule | when it runs, Only if, Then | a rule file (Edit as JSON for lookups and expressions) |
| Translations | key and text rows | an English translation file |
Open any item to edit it in its designer. The Designers menu opens the rest (pages, entities, workflows, access policies, agents, test cases, data import).
Check it worked
The Explorer lists your data, screen and roles under UI, Data and Security. Validate shows Valid.
Common mistakes
- Using capitals or spaces in the id: the wizard rewrites it, but check the result.
- Adding a screen before its data exists: create the data first so the list screen has columns.
